The main focus of this three day event is the interrelationship between these three kinds of vows. The subject is discussed based on the different presentations of the three vows in the ancient Indian Buddhist traditions and according to the Buddhist traditions of Tibet. Khenpos from various Kagyu Monasteries and Geshes from the Geluk tradition are taking part in this discussion which is presided over by His Holiness Karmapa. Quotations from the Sutras
are displayed on big screens to support the discussion which is held in Tibetan and takes place in the main shrine room of Tergar Monastery. The shrine room is completely filled with the participants of the annual Winter Debate and devotees of His Holiness from around the world.
